Flowers have formed the basis of her work in various guises over the years. This is linked to her love of gardening. Plants and their flowers form a large and important part of the world. Medicines and food are but two things they give us. Flowers are more to us than they seem at first to the casual viewer. Flowers  can be fragrant, fragile, bold, colourful, weeds in one place, treasures half way across the world to a collector. Their beauty cannot be copied. Without flowers we would not exist, so her paintings are a small tribute to them. They are how she sees them, that is to say not just how flowers look, but also something of the flower's character.
